Customers of Tesla's Cybertruck electric pickup report suspension of deliveries. The reason may be problems with the accelerator pedal, writes The Verge.
Officially, the company has not yet commented on the situation. Journalists requested comments, but did not receive a response. Instead, members of the Cybertruck Owners Club forum said they've been getting calls or messages delaying delivery of the pickup truck.
One participant relayed the words of the dealer, who cited a problem with the gas pedal as the reason. Another member gave the same reason, but he learned about it from a message from Tesla.
One of the Cybertruck owners posted a video on TikTok explaining the problem in more detail. He said that the accelerator pedal cover was stuck in him, which kept the car at full throttle. The brake pedal stopped the accelerator, but if it was released, the car accelerated again.
That's “not the best situation” for a pickup truck that weighs nearly 7,000 pounds and can accelerate to 60 mph from a standstill in less than three seconds, according to The Verge.
Another forum user wrote that his Cybertruck crashed into a pole, but neither the brakes nor the airbag deployed.
It will be recalled that recently it became known about Tesla's plans to cut more than 10% of its employees due to falling sales and the intensification of the price war on electric cars.
