At the time of release, Gemini for mobile was only available for gadgets running Android 12 and above. Android 10 and Android 11 users will now get it.
When Google announced Gemini for Android earlier this year, the company said the app would only be available for devices running Android 12 and up. All app updates since then have also required 12 as the minimum supported version. However, now older gadgets will also be supported, writes 9to5Google.
The corresponding change is displayed on the page of the Google Play Market application. The latest version of Gemini for Android, v1.0.626720042, now supports Android 10 and the app can be installed via the Play Store on older devices. It is predicted that the AI assistant will now replace Google Assistant on old devices, just as it happened on new models.
NV Techno wrote that Google's artificial intelligence chatbot Gemini (before rebranding – Bard) in the form of an app for iOS and Android became available outside the US in February 2024. However, at that time, only the English-language version of the chatbot was available. Gemini can now be accessed in English, Japanese, or Korean.
