Former Ferrari driver Felipe Massa is trying to get the results of the controversial 2008 Singapore Grand Prix annulled, which could have brought him the championship title, which was then won by Lewis Hamilton.
Now a man has appeared who supported the Brazilian. This person turned out to be the former sporting director of the Scuderia and ex-president of the FIA Jean Todt.
“This case is special. Fraud was proven, which we only learned about after some time,” Motorsport quotes the Frenchman. “The rule at the FIA has always been that the results must be confirmed by December 31, and we never overturn them. In this case in Singapore, the facts were not revealed until a year later.”

“According to Bernie Ecclestone, Max Mosley, my predecessor, and Charlie Whiting, the racing director of Formula 1, were aware of events from the very beginning. When I was president of the FIA, I was not informed about this. Discovering that the Federation knew the truth before that famous December 31st could really make a difference.”
“Sadly, Charlie and Max have passed away.. In hindsight, we should have asked to cancel the race. The completely new fact, if true and verifiable, is that the regulatory body that made the championship official knew what happened.”
Earlier it became known about Aston Martin's exclusive partnership with its title sponsor, which is designed for the next five years.
