TikTok is hoping to attract more EU users with its new app TikTok Lite, which offers cash rewards for watching videos.
TikTok Lite was previously launched in Japan and South Korea. Now Chinese tech giant ByteDance is testing a version of its app, which rewards users with virtual points for watching content, in France and Spain, writes Le Monde .
“You will be able to participate in a variety of fun activities that will allow you to accumulate points, which can then be redeemed for rewards,” the platform tells app users.
TikTok Lite encourages its users to perform certain actions: log in daily, like, follow accounts, invite friends and, above all, watch a huge number of videos. Each user is offered a daily target of 3600 coins ( 0.36 euros), which is equivalent to an hour of using the platform.
These virtual points, available only to customers with Android gadgets, can be converted into Amazon vouchers, gift cards through PayPal or currency that can be spent during live broadcasts on the platform.
As the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andrei Kovalenko, said in an interview with NV, TikTik is now the main platform for Russian propaganda to reach the Ukrainian audience.. This week it became known that the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council began to cooperate with the administration of the social network TikTok to combat this phenomenon.
