A Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft with a failed engine, which requested to land at Sheremetyevo due to a technical malfunction, landed safely. This was reported by the press service of the airport.
“The landing was successful,” the press service of the Moscow airport said in a statement. The plane landed at the Sheremetyevo alternate airfield due to the activation of a sensor for the normal operation of one of the engines.
Yesterday, February 15, in the morning the plane took off from the capital's Vnukovo airport, but after some time, at 10:11, the crew reported the failure of the left engine at an altitude of 2400 m. The aircraft commander first decided to burn out fuel in the holding area and return to the airfield departure. After 15 minutes, the crew requested an emergency landing at Sheremetyevo Airport.
In connection with this situation, the North-Western Transport Prosecutor's Office organized an inspection. If there are grounds, response measures will be taken.
