Binance CEO said the cryptocurrency exchange was able to identify and block the XRP tokens that were stolen from the Ripple co-founder this week.
Richard Teng said that the exchange team is actively assisting in the investigation of any facts of theft of any crypto assets and in countering the concealment of traces of crimes.
The blocking of assets previously owned by Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen became possible thanks to the joint work of the two companies, the head of Binance assured.
“We will continue to support Ripple and will closely monitor funds still in external operator wallets in case they are directed to Binance,” the CEO said.
On Wednesday, January 31, it became known that after hacking one of the Ripple wallets, hackers withdrew 213 million XRP tokens worth more than $112 million. Company co-founder Chris Larsen assured that the hacker attack was aimed at his personal accounts and did not affect the company's clients.
