Italian national team winger Federico Chiesa spoke about the match against the Ukrainian national team (0:0) as part of the qualification for Euro 2024.
“It was probably the toughest game in the entire group stage.. I would like to thank the Ukrainian team, because they took to the field, fought and showed that they want to qualify for the Euro in Germany.
But in the end we drew and now we are going to Germany. This is a very important exit for us, because there we will try to defend the title.”

“Ukraine’s play with three center backs was not a surprise for us. From the first game we knew that they would change something, that they would adapt to our counterattacks and tactics.
They showed exactly what they changed. But if we had taken the chances we had in the first half, it would have been a completely different game. But we didn't score, so the match ended in a draw,” Chiesa said in a post-match interview.
Let us remind you that since Ukraine did not qualify for Euro 2024 directly, it will participate in the playoffs.
