The first deputy head of the Patrol Police Department, Alexey Beloshitsky, reported on the number of drunk drivers caught.
Police officers compiled 128,992 reports for driving while intoxicated over the 10 months of 2023.
It should be recalled that Art.. 130 of the Code of Administrative Offenses – not only about driving while intoxicated, but also about:
driving vehicles in a state of drug or other intoxication, driving vehicles under the influence of drugs that reduce their attention and reaction speed, transferring control of a vehicle to a person in a state of such intoxication or under the influence of such drugs, refusal of the person driving the vehicle, from undergoing an examination in accordance with the established procedure for the state of alcohol, drug or other intoxication or regarding the use of medications that reduce attention and reaction speed.
What is the liability for driving while intoxicated?
by hour. 1 Art. 130 (Driving a vehicle while intoxicated or refusing to undergo an intoxication inspection) KUoAP – a fine of 17,000 hryvnia with deprivation of the right to drive for 1 year; by hour. 2 Art. 130 (Repeated driving while intoxicated within a year) of the Code of Administrative Offenses – a fine of 34,000 hryvnia with deprivation of the right to drive for 3 years with or without paid confiscation of the vehicle or administrative arrest for 10 days with or without paid confiscation of the vehicle; by hour. 3 Art. 130 (Third and subsequent driving while intoxicated within a year) KUoAP – 51,000 hryvnia with deprivation of the right to drive for 10 years and confiscation of the vehicle or administrative arrest for 15 days with deprivation of the right to drive for 10 years and confiscation of the vehicle; by hour. 4 Art. 130 (Use of alcohol, narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, medications by a person driving a vehicle after an accident with his participation before the appropriate inspection) of the Code of Administrative Offenses – 34,000 hryvnia or administrative arrest for a period of 15 days with deprivation of the right to drive for 3 years.
