The Ministry of Defense will oblige suppliers to mark gasoline for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in green. A red dye will be added to the diesel.
The Ministry of Defense plans to establish supplies of such labeled fuel as early as next week.. Labeled diesel fuel will reach the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the end of November.
Marking should make it possible to identify and track fuel purchased for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to Defense Ministry officials, this will reduce the possibility of its illegal resale. In addition, a specific color will reduce abuse at fuel mixing areas.
Marked fuel will be impossible to dilute so that the color disappears completely.. Even if it is very diluted, diesel fuel will be less red or pink in color.. Gasoline will also have its own dye – green, which will not be so easy to get rid of.. The ministry assures that as a result of the innovation, the price of diesel and gasoline will not change.
It is worth noting that some gas station chains now use fuel labeling for the free market. Now premium brands of gasoline with a high octane number are labeled.
